Whether on the top of Masada or partying in Tel Aviv, the latest group of Hollywood movie and television stars to tour Israel kept their fans up-to-date by twittering their every move.

“I could’ve taken the 3 mn sky cable car to top of Masada like most of our group but nooooo I just HAD to be Mrs Adventure[sic],” wrote Hanging With Mr. Cooper‘s Holly Robinson Peete on her website.

Peete was one of eight Hollywood celebrities in town as guests of Israel’s Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs. They were brought over by America’s Voices in Israel, a program which brings media and entertainment personalities for personal experiences in Israel to help spread the country’s positive messages and dispel the negative image associated with conflict Israel sometimes has abroad.

“I’ve heard a lot against Israel back home, but I always knew there was a lot more to this country than what I’ve read and seen in the news,” 90210‘s Anna Lynne McCord told The Huffington Post. “With all that negative coverage about Israel, I was amazed by the resilience, human spirit and optimism that people here have facing daily turmoil. You have to come see Israel for yourself to understand this — that people can still have an amazing existence, with love and patriotism, despite all the odds.”

Joining McCord and Peete were Omar Epps (House), Paul Johansson (One Tree Hill), Mekhi Phifer (ER, Tuskegee Airmen), Holt McCallany (Lights Out), Zach Roerig (Vampire Diaries) and Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds).

The stars visited holy sites as well as the Nalaga’at center for deaf and blind in Jaffa and the Meshi Educational and Rehabilitative Center in Jerusalem.

“This country is so ahead of ours when it comes to caring for children with autism…I’m inspired,” Peete tweeted.
