Located in Rishon Lezion, along Israel’s central coastal plain, Carmit was founded as a family business in 1973. Today, the company develops, manufactures and markets a range of confectionary products both under its own label and for private label brands around the world.
Its leading products for private labels are chocolate coins, marshmallows, dairy-free chocolate, gluten-free wafers, chocolate bars, lollipops and toffees.
According to reporting in Globes, Israel’s leading financial daily, in 2009, Carmit’s sales in the US totaled $8 million. The report also says that Wal-Mart has a 20 percent share of the US food retail and consumer products market, and had $400 billion in sales in 2009.
