Israel’s recently inaugurated 60-kilometer Gospel Trail starts in Nazareth, where Jesus spent his early years, and ends up at the Sea of Galilee, the center of his ministry.

Walking, biking, or even driving along the route, travelers pass by many of the unforgettable places mentioned in the Christian Scriptures.

Walkers enjoy the trek on the 60km Jesus Trail.

At trail’s end at Capernaum, the culmination of many pilgrims’ trips is taking a boat across the sea to Tiberias in a wooden replica of a boat from Jesus’ time that was excavated on the shores of the sea.

The route begins on Mount Precipice in Nazareth, where Pope Benedict held a large public Mass on his 2009 visit to Israel.
