Aviv Wasserman has founded the Lod Community Foundation in an effort to improve life in the city.

Thirty-five year old Aviv Wasserman is a man with a mission. He has committed himself to the Israeli city of Lod. Just 15 minutes away from Tel Aviv, in ancient times the city flourished but today it is covered in trash, illegal neighborhoods with no running water and sewage systems and known for its crime and drug dealing.

Six months ago Aviv, a native Israeli, finished his Masters at the London School of economics and was contacted by the mayor of Lod seeking help. That’s when Aviv established the Lod Community Foundation. Rather than turning to the government, Aviv used his seed money and invested in the citizens, empowering them to take their city back.
