A group of 20 Ultimate Frisbee assistant coaches flew in from the US to take part in the first peacemaking event in Tel Aviv.

Ultimate Peace is the brainchild of US conflict consultant Dr. David Barkan and Israeli engineer Dor Yaniv, two international ultimate Frisbee champions.

Partnering with the Peres Center for Peace, they hope to use the Frisbee to bring disadvantaged Palestinian and Israeli kids together in an effort to foster peace and understanding.

In a kick off event in Tel Aviv recently, some 130 kids from both sides of the fence met together to learn how to play the game with volunteer coaches and world champions.

“Mutual respect, friendship, integrity, non violence and fun – this is the best game to spread all of these values,” says Yaniv, a co-founder of the program.
