There’s nothing funny about a terror attack, but the parents of one victim decided to celebrate their son’s life with a biannual comedy tour across Israel.

Armed with wit and absurdity, American comedian Avi Liberman was recently in Israel as part of the bi-annual Comedy for Koby tour. Liberman brought over some of America’s top stand-up comedians to take part in the shtick.

The comedy tour benefits the Koby Mandell Foundation, an Israeli non-profit organization that works with victims of terror attacks. The charity is named for Koby Mandell, a 13-year-old Israeli-American, who was killed in a terror attack. Knowing that their son was a great fan of stand-up, his parents came up with the Comedy for Koby idea.

Comic Avi Liberman uses his stand up comedy routine as a way to raise money for terror victims.

And though the comedians hail from America, Israeli audiences are always able to connect with their jokes. The funny guys from Hollywood take pride in skewering Mideast politics, Israeli impatience, and being a tourist in Jerusalem.
