For years, Israeli producers have tried to secure Barbra Streisand for a show in the Holy Land. Now, according to Hebrew media, the legendary singer-songwriter has finally agreed to give one concert in Israel – in honor of President Shimon Peres’ 90th birthday this summer.

The 70-year-old Streisand will perform on June 15 or 16, according to the Yediot Aharonot newspaper. She will also reportedly take part in the opening night of the Israeli Presidential Conference on June 18 at the Jerusalem International Convention Center.

The successful Jewish American diva has been to Israel before – and has even helped raise money for numerous Israeli causes — but has never performed here.

The Presidential Conference organizers said that Streisand had been invited to the conference’s opening night and that they would be delighted if she were to accept.
