Medical device startup Stimatix GI has been awarded Best Startup Company of 2012 by Israel’s Office of the Chief Scientist.

Founded in June 2009 to develop and commercialize innovative stomal management solutions, the company is credited with improving the lives of hundreds of thousands of colostomy patients.

The Israeli Chief Scientist grants awards every year to the country’s best incubator and best incubator company. Nominees are chosen out of 23 technological incubators and more than 400 companies.

Investors in Stimatix GI include The Trendlines Group, Israel’s foremost seed- and early-stage investment group, the Israel Office of the Chief Scientist, Pontifax and a private investor.
