Israel’s international jewelry and diamond industry annual exhibition, Jovella, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
This year’s exhibition, to be held at Tel Aviv’s Trade Fairs and Convention Center on July 2 to 3, will focus on the “design” element of the Israel jewelry industry, which is gaining a name and reputation for itself in the jewelry trade all over the world.
Apart from rare diamond designs, and precious jewels, the expo will also demonstrate Israeli fashion jewelers and designers who draw influences from the bible, the Holy Land, and Israel’s vibrant start up community.
Some 10,000 people are expected to attend the two-day event, which has 250 exhibits and is the largest annual event showcasing the jewelry industry. Some 250 traders are expected to fly in specifically to buy from Israel.
The event will also give a forum for companies in Israel that work around the industry, such as tool suppliers and packaging companies working for the jewelry business.
Partners putting on the event include the Israel Jewelry Manufacturers’ Association, the Israel Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor; the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute, and the Israel Diamond Institute Group of Companies. The Stier Group is the event organizer.
Foot traffic can head to Israeli designers in Tel Aviv, with many of the fashion jewelers selling their items at the fashion district the “Electric Garden” in south Tel Aviv.
Keeping diamond numbers out of the statistics, Israel exported some $250 million worth of jewelry in 2011. That’s something to shine about.
