Qatar has put Israel on its radar. And according to numerous media reports, Prince Khalifa al-Thani will touch down in November thereby marking the first official visit by a Qatar royal.
Al-Thani is said to be coming for two reasons: Firstly, to woo Israeli high-tech companies to export work and development projects to Qatar; and secondly, to attend the inauguration of the Israel-Palestine Business Arbitration Center.

According to the Calcalist newspaper, Oren Shachor – president of the International Chamber of Commerce in Israel – met with al-Thani and spoke about a possible visit. Shachor and Palestinian counterpart, Munib al-Masri, are behind the new commercial arbitration center that will offer services in disputes of up to $7 million between Israeli and Palestinian business people.

Though no schedule has been made, al-Thani is expected to meet with senior Israeli officials from the high-tech and venture capital industry.
