Apple will open a new R&D center in Ra’anana, the company’s third in Israel. According to a Globes report, the new center will be staffed by 100-150 former employees of chipmaker Texas Instruments.
Apple has two other development centers in Haifa and Herzliya.
Last year, Apple made its first acquisition in Israel when it bought out Anobit – a global leader of flash storage solutions.
Apple’s entry into Israeli high-tech followed in the footsteps of Microsoft, Google, Intel, Motorola and IBM. Industry insiders are not surprised by the newest plans for its third development center.
