If you’re looking for something alternative to do on a trip to Tel Aviv, a visit to the historic Trumpeldor Cemetery could be the ideal thing.

The graveyard, located in the heart of one of Tel Aviv’s busiest areas, is the final resting place for many of the city’s most beloved cultural, political and historical figures – including its first mayor, Meir Dizengoff, and poet Chaim Nachman Bialik.

A walk along these old pathways is a trip back into the history of the city, which was founded over 100 years ago.

Since the burial there of Israel’s beloved singer-songwriter Arik Einstein, who died on November 26 last year, the graveyard has been getting thousands of new visitors.
